22-Year-Old Denise Murphy Injured In Upshur, TX Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on Sunday, March 28 at around 10:55 AM in Upshur, Texas. 22-year-old Denise Murphy was seriously injured in a one car accident that occurred on Farm to Market Road 593. Ms. Murphy was a passenger in a Ford Explorer driven by 53-year-old Elmer Leroy Blankenship. The Ford was approaching a left curve and went off the roadway to the right and overturned. Mr. Blankenship was ejected from the vehicle and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Murphy was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation and we send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
