26-Year-Old Octavio Hernandez-Mora Injured In Dekalb, IL Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on October 19 in Dekalb, Illinois. 26-year-old Octavio Hernandez-Mora was seriously hurt in an accident at the intersection of Fairview Drive and Somonauk Road. A Ford F-250 failed to see a stop sign due to heavy fog at the intersection and hit a Chevy van traveling south. As both drivers got out to inspect the damage, a semi traveling north on Somonauk hit the stopped Chevy van. A passenger in the van, Octavio Hernandez-Mora, was transported to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb with severe injuries. Robert Padilla, the driver of the semi, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
