A pedestrian, who authorities say was retrieving something from his vehicle, was struck by another car and killed at the intersection of Bay Avenue and Twin Oaks Drive. Initial reports suggest a vehicle driven by Beams failed to maintain her lane, causing the car to travel in the shoulder. The vehicle eventually crashed into the pedestrian, resulting in his death at the scene. Toms River Traffic Safety Officer and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office are now leading the investigation.
