The crash happened at approximately 6:24 a.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 117, about six miles south of Batesville. Authorities say Mansell, a Uvalde resident, was driving to work when another vehicle, a Ford-550 towing a flatbed trailer, failed to yield while turning left and collided with his Ford-350. The impact ejected Mansell from his vehicle, causing fatal injuries. Tragically, he died at the scene. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
