41-Year-Old Eddie Lepes Injured In Saint Clair, IL Accident

Accident is under investigation by the state police

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, January 13 in Saint Clair, Illinois. 41-year-old Eddie Lepes was identified as one of two victims sadly injured in a head-on collision, approximately half a mile south of Illinois route 156. The 74-year-old driver of a Buick ran off the road to the right, over corrected and crossed over the centerline, colliding head-on with a Kia forte. The driver of the Buick was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Lepes who was behind the wheel of the Kia, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 71-year-old female in the Buick was flown to a regional hospital with life-threatening injuries. The state police continue to investigate the crash.
