41-Year-Old Melissa Rack Killed In Austin, MN Accident

Tragic accident that occurred on December 30 in Austin, Minnesota. 41-year-old Melissa Rack lost her life in an alleged hit-and-run collision on Oakland Place SE. Austin Police Department was informed about a female lying in the roadway and despite life-saving measures, Rack could not be revived.  Police determined the debris and other evidence indicated Rack had been hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene. Officials apprehended a 35-year-old Austin man in connection to the crash. He was arrested on probable cause for violating Minnesota’s criminal vehicular homicide statute.
