46-Year-Old Miguel Berdecia Killed In Sayville, NY Accident

DUI wreck on The Sunrise Highway

Tragic accident that occurred on Wednesday, September 8 at around 12:25 AM in Sayville, New York. 46-year-old Miguel Berdecia was tragically killed when he was struck by a drunk driver on The Sunrise Highway. The victim was operating a Toyota Yaris that crashed and became disabled sideways in the center lane. Shortly after, the Toyota was struck by a Jeep Liberty driven by 37-year-old Daniel Lazzaro. The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to strike the victim, and he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Lazzaro was charged with driving while intoxicated.
