48-Year-Old Thomas Cobillas Killed In Belleville, IL Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on July 16th in Belleville, Illinois. 48-year-old Thomas Cobillas was tragically struck and killed by a 2021 Ford Cutaway bus on South Belt West. After striking the victim, the bus veered off the street near a BP gas station and struck a payphone and kiosk, before striking the side of the St. Clair County Regional Office of Education building. Cobillas was rushed to Memorial Hospital Belleville, where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
