Preliminary info is that 46-year-old Sgt. Trevor Peterson was driving a vehicle east on Morristown Boulevard near Holland Avenue when he fatally struck the victim. The Sheriff’s office said Peterson was not responding to an emergency call at the time of the collision. Wesley was in the road when she was struck, according to Minnesota State Patrol.
