Mr. Swafford was traveling west when an eastbound Chevy Colorado crossed the centerline and struck his vehicle head on. The driver of the Colorado, 63-year-old Russell Nowell, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Swafford was taken to Wooster Community Hospital and later airlifted to Akron City Hospital.
