The victim was traveling westbound when he was struck by 57-year-old Nolan Grant. The car over turned on the roadway and a truck traveled over a guard rail and ended up in an embankment before coming to a stop on the shoulder. The victim was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Grant was charged with DWI in connection with the crash.
