One-year-old Benny Esquivel was tragically killed at Devils Fork State Park while walking with his family toward the parking lot. He ran off in front of the family members between two cars and was hit by a 2011 Jeep Wrangler that officials say was traveling northbound on private property. Esquivel, a resident of Asheville, North Carolina, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
