Briana Michelle Contreras Involved In Mission Valley, CA Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on January 13 in Mission Valley, California. Briana Michelle Contreras is facing DUI and other charges in connection with a wrong-way crash on Interstate 8. Before a Honda Civic was able to stop the car, it collided head-on with a Nissan SUV near College Avenue. A 49-year-old woman was extricated from the SUV and transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to injuries.  Officers arrested the driver of the Honda – 24-year-old Briana Michelle Contreras – on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, as well as other charges. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
