Daniel Gardner died when his tractor-trailer was struck by tires that came off of another truck along Interstate 280. A southbound tractor-trailer, driven by Adam Chestnut, lost a set of tires from one of its axles. "The dual tires went through the median and struck a northbound semi-tractor trailer combination,” OSHP reported. "It directly hit the cab and the truck on the driver’s side."Gardner was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Chestnut did not stop, troopers reported, but he was located later at a local truck stop. The collision remains under investigation by OSHP.
