Darren Powell Involved In Spring Lake, NC Accident

Crash at North Bragg Boulevard

Tragic accident that occurred on August 17 in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Darren Lyndell Obatala Powell caused a crash that killed a passenger in a Honda near the intersection of North Bragg Boulevard and McKenzie Road. Powell was driving an Acura 110 mph south when officers tried to perform a traffic stop but Powell continued traveling at a high rate of speed. The pursuit culminated with the Acura hitting a Honda Accord that was turning left onto McKenzie Road, authorities said. The passenger in the Honda, whose name hasn't been released, died from injuries suffered in the crash. The Honda driver was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville with serious injuries. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
