Jones passed away on New Year's Eve, nine days after being struck

Tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 22 around 8:20 AM in Long Beach California. James Herbert Lee Jones sadly died on New Year’s Eve, nine days after being struck by a hit-and-run driver along Pacific Coast Highway and Harbor Avenue. The driver of a Honda Civic fled the scene after he failed to yield to Jones who was walking in a marked crosswalk. Jones was rushed to a local hospital where he sadly died on Thursday. The accident is under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.
