Tragic accident that occurred on December 13 in Big Sandy, Texas. Jimmy Lee Hewitt was charged with manslaughter after a fatal pedestrian crash on Highway 155. A woman was using a flashlight to help a student cross the road when a pickup truck driver disregarded the school bus safety lights and hit the woman. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Jimmy Lee Hewitt, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. He was booked into the Upshur County Jail. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family of the victim.
