Jose Sanchez Injured In Madison, NC Accident

The crash remains under investigation

Tragic accident that occurred on August 29 in Madison, North Carolina. Jose Luis Alvarez Sanchez was seriously injured after a crash involving a box truck near the 3365 block of NC-63 (Doggett Mountain). Preliminary info is that a box truck hauling supplies was approaching a downhill curve when the driver left the roadway to the right and struck an embankment. The vehicle went airborne as a result of the crash and rolled approximately 150 feet down an embankment. Sanchez, a passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to Johnson Medical Center in Tennessee for treatment. Speed is believed to have been a factor in this accident, which remains under investigation.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the victim.
