Tragic accident that occurred on April 14 in New Hanover, North Carolina. Authorities say an impaired driver is responsible for leaving an 8-year-old pedestrian in critical condition after an accident on Gordon Road. Joseph Chamberlain struck the child that was transported to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was arrested and charged with felony hit and run causing serious injury, driving while impaired and open container of alcohol in the passenger area.
