Mark Butler was tragically struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on US 231. Butler was driving a vehicle towing a utility trailer and after losing part of his load he parked the vehicle and got out to remove the debris from the road. At that time, Butler was hit by a GMC truck, which fled the scene after the collision. The truck was later located near U.S. 231 and Bayou George Road, approximately five miles from where Butler was hit. Authorities are actively pursuing the hit-and-run driver.
