Richard Suiter was seriously injured while mowing his lawn, by a vehicle that jumped the curb and struck him on Minthal Drive. Medics transported Suiter to a hospital with broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and a head laceration. The vehicle operator and the owner remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, handled by the Southing Police Department Accident Investigation Team.
